I just downloaded windows live messenger, and would like to know how to uninstaul windows messenger. I couldn't find it in my add remove programs and would like to know how to do it, and if it can be done at all.

ooo If you could let me know how you did it it would be awesome. I have windows messenger on my computer and wish to use windowslive. However, when I try installing windowslive, it won't let me for some weird reason. Someone told me I had to uninstall windows messenger then install windowslive and it should work. I'm really hoping they're right. So if you could tell me how to uninstall windows messenger, that would be great. I couldn't find it in my add or remove list either. Thanks.

Go to add remove programs, and choose add remove windows components (or something like that.) It's buried in there someplace. If someone wants more detailed instructions, let me know, and I'll go look. I'm just writing this from memory.

I went to control pannel, then add/remove components, then went all the way down to windows messenger. hit the spacebar on it once then hit next and there you go. it doesn't actually uninstaul, it just deactivates it from showing up in your start menu and siging in, as if you uninstauled it, but it being a windows thing it really can't be uninstauled. but if you ever had to you could bring it back just like that.
